An Indian Christmas – a few snapshots from my house

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas….posting a few pictures of my house (I know a bit late but was overworked and running around like a lunatic!

The entryway to my house ….a twig from the garden gets lit up in lieu of a Christmas tree! I try and add just a hint of a festive spirit to my normal predominantly blue house through accessories, foliage and hints of red.

Old Metallic baubles in a driftwood basket add a festive feel to a mantelpiece yet retaining a tropical feel

Glass and metallic balls lying around the house.

My favorite lime green candles …so pretty that I’m too scared to light them!
Fortunately Mirador stocks them quite often!

Winter greens and red Anthurium flowers.

My morning room or informal sitting room …with hints of green …be through plants, a few throw away green cushions and a napkin rings stuffed into a candy jar vase.

My silver tea set is put to use to hold painted pinecones and some succulents.

Instead of gift boxes and wrapping paper …I recycled my old bags / potlis made out of old saris as packaging for gifts.

Will send more pictures later…hope you enjoyed some of these images from various parts of my home!

Again branches from a dried tree put to use. Yes, my gardener gives me a constant supply !

Signing off with the lyrics from one of my favorite Holiday songs –

“ So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Lets hope it’s a good one
Without any fear. “

Wishing everyone the very best for 2016 !
